MOTORIZATION- we are certified experts Convenience, Energy Efficiency and Child Safety Many Hunter Douglas products can be motorized. This means a motor in the headrail does the work of raising, lowering, or tilting the window covering. You can achieve this with systems powered by batteries, 110 volt household current, or as part of a lighting or whole-home automation system. With motorization you can operate those hard to reach shades with the touch of a button. Or have your shades maximize energy efficiency by having them operate with the use of a sun sensor. No cords means clean looks and child and pet safety. Use remotes or wall switches, the options are endless! Battery Operated Motorization This option does not require any additional wiring in your home. It is very convenient and easy to use, and is available on many products. Batteries operate the blind or shade and do need to be changed about every year or every other year depending on use. Hard-Wired Motorization Hard-Wired systems are stronger and more powerful than the battery operated systems. They can operate larger window coverings and with more precision. This system requires wires routed from a window location to a control device and power supply. The power supplies can be concealed in a closet, attic or basement. Many products can be hard-wired and this option can be integrated into a home automation system.
